Chapter Three: Harley Davidson x The Congregation Show - 2019 Iron 1200 Sportster Giveaway Bike Update
Our first two articles introducing the Harley Davidson x The Congregation Show - 2019 Iron 1200 Sportster Giveaway Bike, revealed the fact that we’re not simply giving away a stock motorcycle. We’re stripping the bike down and building it back up using vintage Harley Davidson bits, one-off fabricated items and we’ll be pulling parts off our own shelves as well.
With our deadline of The Congregation Show near, we’ve had to make haste with our work and pull some long hours in order to finish the build on time while meeting our very high quality standards. There have been certain custom pieces that we’ve fabricated, installed, and ripped off because it just wasn’t matching the vision we had for the bike.
What is that vision you may ask? Well, we’re bringing the 80’s back.
From the colors we’re using to the parts we’re either fabricating or installing, our overall aesthetic will be a straight up throwback.
Right now, the bike is sitting in the shop unrecognizable. There’s an engine and frame, but the rest of the bits and pieces are either being painted or receiving other final touches. We want to show you some photos of two stages of the build in this chapter. First, we’re going to tease some images of the custom rear end and seat combo that we fabricated and second, you’ll see photos of the bike in its current state.
The next time you see this motorcycle, the paint will have dried and re-assembly will be complete.
Once the bike is fully built, we're going to ship it to Wisconsin and will be riding it from Harley Davidson's headquarters (with some friends from HD) in Milwaukee to The Congregation Show for its unveiling.
So, keep a close, close watch on this build and stay tuned to learn how it can be yours. Until then, enjoy.
